Case Study: York Region Facilities
Signage Guideline Manual
The Brothers Markle Inc have created an award-winning forty-page signage manual for the Regional Municipality of York.
In 2005, The Property Services Branch of The Regional Municipality of York commissioned The Brothers Markle Inc to create a ‘Facilities Signage Guideline Manual’.
The Guide serves to provide consistency throughout all municipal facilities; including sizes, colours, locations, graphic elements, materials and fastening methods. The project, which includes full criteria for the Ontario Disabilities Act regulations, won yet another award for the Brothers: the Premiere award for the Wayfinding category in the Sign Association national contest.
The Brothers provided the signage implementation for several of the municipality’s buildings, including the Head Office. These installations used the DanSign CurveSign modular system for interior application, and illuminated signage for the exteriors.
